Configure Total Error-BV

Note: Configure Total Error-BV by lab number or by panel. Set up a panel before configuring Total Error-BV for a panel. See Create a Panel and Add Tests for more information.

1. Log in as a user with the Edit test settings/rules permission.
2. Click the Configure tab.
3. Click Analytical Goals.
4. Click Total Error-BV.
5. Select the Lab or Panel option.
6. Select the lab number or panel name from the Lab or Panel list depending on the option selected in step 5.
7. If using the Lab option, select the lot number from the Lot list.
8. Select the test from the Test list.

   Note: Select a Total Error goal first so the program can determine if there is enough consensus group data for your selection.

9. Select the consensus group for the Total Error goal (%):
   • Peer
   • Method
   • All Labs
10. Select the Use this application to evaluate performance check box and then select an option for the mean:
    • Use monthly peer group mean
    • Use 6-month peer group mean
    • Use cumulative peer group mean
    • Manually enter target value

      Note: The following message appears if there is not enough consensus group data for selection: "Imprecision and Bias values for biological variation are not available at this time."

11. Repeat step 9 until reaching a valid consensus group selection.

    Note: Manually enter a target value when consensus group data is not available.

12. If using Manually enter target value, type the target values in the Target value (Mpeer) fields.
13. Select the performance option for the Bias goal (%):
    • Minimum
    • Desirable
    • Optimum
14. If using Manually enter target value, type the target value in the Bias goal (%) field.
15. Select the performance option for the Imprecision goal (%):
    • Minimum
    • Desirable
    • Optimum
16. If using Manually enter target value, type the target value in the Imprecision goal (%) field.
17. Select the Warn or Off rules status for Bias goal (%) and Imprecision goal (%).
18. The TEa range fields are populated based on Bias goal (%) and Imprecision goal (%) values entered. Select the Warn or Off rules status for TEa.
19. Click Save.
